Hand-grained, hand-colored leather.
We start with vegetable tanned, uncolored sides of leather. Rather than using leather dyes, we mix water based, transparent solvent-free colors to hand-color your bag the color you specified during our video call.
Hand-graining leather is accomplished by repeatedly folding the leather to and fro. The number of directions one repetitively folds the leather determines the pattern produced.
A hand-grained pattern elicited from transparently colored leather is never replicated even from one part of the bag to another. As we mix our colors, we also mix our finishes. Hand-applied, water based, water repellent, transparent, color-fast; our finishes, like our products, work.
